Our mSATA SLC SSD have been used in numerous industrial applications. They use the SATA interface which is much faster than older Parallel ATA products such as CF and PC Cards. SLC mSATA come with the reliability of SLC NAND which enables our high endurance of >2 Million write cycles per logical block.
Cactus Industrial mSATA are designed to meet the most challenging embedded flash storage requirements. They are available with an optional -45C to 90C extended temperature range version and can be customized to meet specific design needs. Lidded Version of Industrial MO-300 mSATA
For mSATA SLC devices being used in high shock, vibration and rugged environments, Cactus offers a lidded version of the Industrial mSATA products.
The strong metal lid makes the mSATA module more rigid than a standard mSATA device as well as protecting the top side circuitry from dust and other environmental contamination.

Cactus mSATA SLC SSD highly reliable during unexpected power loss:
After thoroughly testing of the Cactus 900S Series Industrial mSATA and competitive products from several major manufacturers our data shows the Cactus SLC mSATA handles write aborts best.
A write abort occurs when the SLC mSATA losses power during a write process. This is particularly dangerous for flash storage devices which are updating internal meta data. If the meta data is corrupted, the card will no longer be usable.
Cactus 900S Series Industrial Grade mSATA have a number of key advantages. First, there is no added DRAM cache. Data in DRAM cache is susceptible to loss during unexpected power loss. Second, the controller is designed primarily for reliability and not for cost or performance alone. Utmost care is taken to ensure internal meta data is not corrupted.
Finally, the controller silicon, NAND silicon and firmware are locked down, which means there will not be any bugs introduced by regularly changing code or silicon.
mSATA to 2.5" SATA Adapter for Development
To ease an OEM's design efforts of Cactus mSATA industrial into their system, Cactus created the mSATA to 2.5" SATA Adapter.
The Adapter has a mSATA connector and mounting on the PCB and converts the signals to the standard 2.5" SATA connector found on most SSD. Many designers find it useful to use the final memory storage device even while developing on a different platform.
This is only meant for development of Cactus mSATA (MO-300 Industrial) devices and is not available as a production product. Please contact Cactus if you need specific details regarding this adapter.
Silicon Systems Inc mSATA, WD mSATA and STEC mSATA
Several Industrial mSATA SLC SSD suppliers have discontinued their embedded flash offerings once being acquired by a larger company. Cactus Industrial Grade mSATA is an ideal replacement for these vendors with an equivalent or higher reliability solution.
